I called Wells Fargo to confirm the deal. My wife was envious when I got a fat check from the previous deal.
I showed my sympathy by calling to confirm the deal is still around. They renewaled it.

No reason to get stuck with some eco-box. Do it right at a $25000 deposit for a $250k car. Cool
Well, when the pulling starts it is usually soft, and then it gradually gets hard as the pulling continues. Then once you have "credited" all over it gets soft again and that is when the pulling stops.
Can confirm that's the deal breaker for you.

For many of us, this "deal" requires too much effort.

As others have warned already, I was "conditionally approved." I received an email with a tedious list of further requirements.

Not worth the hassle, in my opinion.
What? The only things they require of you is to sign the docs and send back. If that's a hassle for you, you don't deserve this $250.

quick question..
If the credit is freeze, can I open bank account? Do they need to pull my credit?
If I got to unfreeze my credit file, which credit bureau I should Unfreeze? (Experian, equifax, Transunion)?
Can I go to a branch and get the same deal?

Thank you for your response
This is an online offer only. I just successfully applied and was approved while having my credit still frozen with all 3 bureaus.

^^Not true

1. Sign Up
2. Fund the account
3. Make the 10 purchases

4. Now you have to avoid the monthly fees by refunding the account, set up direct deposits, continue making 10 purchase/mo. Or, close it immediately after the $250 is credited.

5. After the bonus you have to close the account unless you want to keep it and do #4 to avoid the fees. This will likely require a visit to a branch to completely close it. Zeroing out an account doesn't officially close it.

6. Next you'll receive a 1099 INT and taxes will take a big chunk out of your $250 bonus.

i believe he was referring to if you are conditionally approved. they send you something to fill out, or you can visit the bank to verify your identity.
also, i read in the other thread that you can close the account via secure message. i will give it a try later

I am 100% certain I correctly answered the three security questions.

Despite that, I still received "conditional approval" and a tedious list of additional requirements.

Wells Fargo has a terrible reputation, and this "deal" is not worth the current hassles and the probable future hassles.

You don't have to do DD AND make the 10 purchases.

You want to know the easy way to do this?

Set up your account, fund it with a CC.

Once you get the debit card, make 10 $1 Amazon GC reloads.

Get your $250 bonus

Transfer it to a checking account.

SM WF to close your account. The end.

Will the bonus post before the monthly service fees kick in? It sounds like the 10 initial purchases will give the first month without fees. Is that enough time to get the $250 and cash out?

Well Fargo steals more money and takes money more than the $250 you are about to get. It's your money in the first place. They make a couple of billions just via overdraft fees!! imagine that. So it's nothing for them and its compensation for them in the way it looks like they are doing good when actually they are conning you again.

That 250 you get is 25cents to them! and more money will be taken from you in the long run! I swear by it

you should probably read the original thread. You don't need to sign and return the docs.

I was conditionally approved too, just waited for the debit card and pin to come and then I just did my 10 transactions. got bonus in 2 days. sent SM to close the account.

From the previous time this deal was posted, it was pointed out that there is a 60-day grace period when opening a new account. Therefore, the initial 10 purchases to qualify for the bonus will cover you for long enough to avoid any monthly fees, if you intend on closing it right after the bonus posts.
