$300 Target Gift Card for Upgrades and New Lines Starts Sunday!!!!
This isn't as good as the $300 gift card for new lines that they offered 2 weeks ago, but it is still decent if you need to switch to Verizon or upgrade now.
Just got a iPhone 7 256GB from Best Buy for $650 (24 month next) and then was able to get another 256GB for free via the AT&T BOGO offer (new line require).

That's awesome!!! You should post that deal - 256GB iPhone 7 x 2 for $650 is a great deal!!!

Best Buy has 256GB iPhone 7 for $200 off and 256GB iPhone 7+ for $150 off. This is an instant discount, not a gift card. It stacks with the AT&T BOGOF.
Anybody know if I can keep my old number if I switch to Verizon (adding to someone's family plan) with this target deal? I know it's possible at Verizon stores just don't know how it works with this deal

Yes, Target can do a port in. You either need the Account Owner with you or the AO needs to make you the Account Manager and give you the account PIN.
Just took this deal for the iphone 7 adding a line to verizon and received a $100 gift card for Best Buy for adding a line. I added the deal online so not sure if it's the same at the store but said the offer was good until 4/1 for new lines.
Do you know how it works if the person is switching from Verizon one family plan to my Verizon family plan?? Getting complicated...
If someone is already on Verizon and wants to join your Verizon plan, you must assume liability on their line. It does not count as a new line since they are not new to Verizon, they are just switching accounts.
The other person needs to release their line to you. They do that through their profile online by inputting your info in the Transfer Your Service section or by calling 611. Then you assume liability on their line by calling the AOL department (888) 832-4540.
After they are on your account, they can upgrade but it is not considered a new line.
For their line to count as a new line, they would have to port out of Verizon, for instance to a prepaid carrier. Then port back into your account. They would have to time that properly because you can't port out of Verizon and back in during the same billing cycle. They would not be able to port back into your account as a new line until their old account started a new billing cycle.

Is there a way to buy the iPhone 7 outright and use the BOGO deal without signing up for AT&T Next?
If I signed up for Next, it would raise my phone bill so much that I would have paid for both iPhone 7's in two years.

No that's not true.
The way the BOGOF works is that you buy both iPhones on Next 30 or 24 month plan. Let's say you get the 32GB iPhone 7 x 2. If you buy on the 30 month plan, each month you are billed $21.67 x 2. However, you also will receive a bill credit for $21.67 each month so over the course of 30 months you only pay $650 total for both phones. At least 1 of the lines must be a new line.

Actually, it is true. I'm not talking about the device payments - I'm talking about the required switch to Next as opposed to my current service plan.
The really shady part of AT&T Next is the fine print:

If you break or loose your device, the remaining balance is due in full and you still have to replace the device! Another member recently called AT&T Next a "long con".
