Obligatory, every time this comes up someone comments that there are apparently multiple generations of this item and usually the one I'm looking at is the first generation which is apparently garbage and doesn't work. So buyer beware. Or maybe someone can confirm which gen this is.
this is not that one. that's some grade a misinformation right there Wink

got a schlage door lock, ordered 2 of these to put on water heater and HVAC. which hub should I get. I don't mind tweaking and custom stuff, I like a big support community with expandability. also, I would love to run my stuff locally rather than need internet if possible.

Unfortunately this isn't compatible with Wink, as per Amazon's product page Q&A...

Version 1e correct? What is the main differences versus version 2e outside of gen 5 support?

I've been resisting these every time they come up but I may finally be worn down. It can join my stash of other z-wave devices I have yet to deploy. Darn you slick deals.

so these are designed to measure usage coming into the panel or can you also use to measure usage on anything with a power cord? For example putting around a PC power cord to measure watts being used.

What do I need to connect to this to actually monitor it? I really haven't looked into any of the home automation/monitoring stuff before. Just wondering what else I'd have to buy, or can I just use WiFi and read it out on my computer?

Thanks,

-MJ

If this is a version 1, it's a piece of junk. Reports incorrect values. I am using the aeon labs smartapp. I read in one of the forums that second version is better. I have requested an energy bridge from my electric company DTE and they approved it. It's free. Hope this helps.
