Spring Black Friday....? They couldn't have just gone with Spring Sale?

Good price regardless. Thanks OP.
If lawn mowers are talking to you, you have much bigger problems than mulch size.
My city does that also. I got a truckful from them a few years ago. I had an incredibly wide variety of weeds that year.

The reviews on the black one are quite poor.

I will rather pay $3 (if you buy more than 10 bags) for Living Earth's fine/shredded black mulch!!!
Much better in quality!

Thanks. Been waiting for mulch to go down. This is good in the tidewater area of VA too.

I added Brown mulch exactly a year ago and it still looks bright brown color after going thru tough hot weather in Texas. Planning to buy more this year to add more in my garden bed.

I have this from Lowes in black, it's a year old and still very black. I've seen the red in the neighborhood and it doesn't seem to hold up as well.

I have bought the Scott's Black for a few years, it is poor quality.... Usually very moldy and fades quickly, no idea why I keep buying the crap..

Just wanted to reply and say go Hokies, fellow tidewater resident as well. Cheers

I'm in the south, with lots of rain and hot/humid summers. As part of a pretty big landscaping effort last year I bought about 60 bags of the Scotts brown mulch for certain areas of the yard, and then had a local landscaper deliver a bunch of more finely shredded hardwood mulch. Initially the finer stuff looks better in my opinion, as the Scotts stuff is bigger chunks. But a little over a year later, the bigger chunks hold up much better. The Scotts mulch has lost a little bit of color if you examine closely, but overall it's held up well and gives the same general appearance/color. The other fine stuff looks pretty terrible now and basically needs to be re-layered each year.

I bought some last time when it was on sale(same price as this one), the quality is OK, but the wood pieces are pretty big.
