I disagree. I went from a M1 Pro 14 to a M4 pro 14 base and the M4 is certainly snappier in day to day use. The biggest difference is battery life though. Even when new I never got more than 6-7...

That's largely untrue. These vs the XM4 are pretty much a wash, with the Sony's leaning more to a slightly more bass heavy signature. The XM5/6 are better but have durability issues.
