Only the 11th Gen have better single core performance that the 5xxx series, and you can’t buy them. So at that point it’s really about core count. Ryzen 5xxxx can’t be beat core for core.

5600X power draw is actually only about ~75W at full load and does not run very hot. I have a 5600X SFF build in an SG13 with a CoolerMaster Lite 120 AIO and idle it's 40C and full load it's ~65-70C...
