I just picked this desk up too. I was a little worried about the noise going up and down but apparently everyone's is doing the same thing. Very solid desk. I like it a lot.

The IKEA desk is crap. It's got a 10 year warranty but the power brick has a problem that causes it to only go up about an inch at a time, then you have to wait a couple minutes, then another inch....

By the way, for those who don't read the instructions,.. You CAN set it to turn off the display and audio feedback by holding down the lock button for 5 seconds. No need to mess with the electronics.
