That's a standard for most tours though, all the "touristy" spots will have shops/vendors on the streets selling stuff. The Chinese are just a little more aggressive... Though I think this has fixed...

Don't bother with the tour. You'll spend half if not 3/4 of your time visiting local businesses instead of taking you to the scenery or historical places... This is one where you get what you pay...
