Thanks! it took a while but I did figure it out. Now if only I could get the xiaomi water temp sensor to detect something instead of 0C (got switches and motion to work...)

Hopefully you've figured it out. Simply go to device in the developer and go to edit. Change it to a sensor . Save it . Once done you can delete it.
