E-ink displays help with battery life and are easier on the eyes. It also prevents wear and tear on an expensive tablet(reduces risk of tablet theft). Kindles tend to be easier to carry around.

Nah, it runs great. Phones have become faster in 2 years,so the Paperwhite "feels" slower, but you're READING... How fast do you turn pages?

I upgraded to this version from the Kindle Keyboard (167 ppi) and the 300 ppi was definitely noticeable. The back light is also a great touch. Worth the cost for the upgrade if you are on the fence.

I love my Kindle Paperwhite. I love paper books and I never thought I would give them up, but I use this everyday. Mine has never been slow turning pages. I love the backlight.
