These are likely made from different OEMs. From the specs, I can see is this one runs on 2xAAA batteries instead of the smaller CR123A button batteries in OP's link. This one is possibly bigger too.

I didnt select a particular handler, I just did Add a Thing and it did find the sensor. Now, it is only stuck at open status with no updates even after opening or closing the door.

they work fine with Vera, had run several for about 6 months, just got 5 more with this sale... recently switched to Homeseer and they work well on HS3 also.

They both are going to be slower than you are hoping for (anything routing through a hub is going to take a few seconds). Best best, directly wire in a switch.
