I bought last time at 1300. They are great speakers and everything arrived in great shape. Even if the boxes were to have been damaged there is lots of extra room and added Styrofoam padding.

FYI: I'm working with a Klipsch authorized dealer right now on a RF-7 II + RC-64 II deal. I also mentioned this Adorama deal with a few questions along with -- he seems very reasonable.

IMO, I think retail is hurting a little right now. Deep discounts like this are odd especially for the top-of-the-line RP series since it's fairly new.

In your towers, yes. The bass is no comparison. The highs will be more sibilant with the Klipsch. If you have a live room (lots of hard surfaces), you probably will hate these.
