You do not want soft white for these...are you installing them in your kitchen? These are garage/shop lights. 5000k is the right color temp. It gives more accurate color rendering.

I have these lights and had to replace 3 of them fairly quickly. They work when they want to so make sure to keep your record so you can exchange them. It's a hit or miss on which ones work.
