I have used both and for those who are leaning towards DJI Osmo because of the app, you could try Filmic Pro. It’s a much better app than the DJI app and will work with most gimbal stabilizers.

I ended up returning mine that I purchased on Amazon. The tracking controls just seemed wacky and not intuitive, the app sucked even on iOS, my phone would occasionally droop screwing up my shot....

Yes, there is a standard 1/4 thread on the bottom to place on a tripiod. The Osmo doesn't have one, but you could probably use its base (although its not practical)
