EDIT: Ooops. I was comparing to the Cyberpower deal here. Debating the same thing as well.... The Cyberpower is small form factor which is a big plus for me. The MSI is full ATX which may be...

Is this a smart buy with Coffee Lake around the corner? I honestly want to wait for that architecture in addition to Volta next year possibly.

Are those nvme drives? Do you know which one are those?
Post #104052284 added 08-26-2017 12:38 PM by Dang_lang23 in Deal Talk
They are Intel 600p NVMe drives. It's actually in the OP and you can see a decent image of it in the imgur album I linked. EDIT: actually the image isn't that great..

From OP's pics it looks like the motherboard is a Z270 SLI Plus. While it is an affordable motherboard I wouldn't call it a cheap one and it definitely supports overclocking. HardOCP seems pretty...

Tempting considering the miners are pushing the prices of gpu up. There is the fry's deal for 666 + tax. But you need a psu, nvme ssd, and a gpu. That pushes the price quite higher though you do...

The Cyberpower from that deal has some things going for it. Faster and probably higher quality RAM, liquid cooling for the CPU, windowed case, Corsair 650W power supply. It only has a 120GB SATA SSD...

But usually you don't have to pay tax on newegg but you will have to pay tax at Microcenter.

I finally got finished updating Windows 10 on initial setup and I see that the two 256 GB NVMe SSDs are setup as separate drives. I definitely was not expecting that but I suppose it's not horrible. ...

With prices the way they are these days it's become harder to justify building a PC even if you've been doing it for a while. That's not to say you couldn't build a better or more precisely built PC....

I'm tempted to buy the MC 1080 config because it's a lot cheaper than if I cobble one together. The only better config I'll probably get if I was until October or November is a better power supply...

For me, building a PC isn't about the cost savings only. It's about having full control over how you want your PC built. Want a case that doesn't look like a battle tank on steroids and has great...

Yea it is definitely tempting. What's holding me back is that the RAM appears to be generic and doesn't seem we really know what the PSU is either. The locked motherboard is concerning as well. ...

Curious if anyone has been able to flash the bios with a stock version for the motherboard? It looks like this deal is still valid and I currently have the 1070 version. I have not been able to...

Don't think it will do much good, seems to be sold out at every single Microcenter I've checked at this point

I might be wrong, but the home page still shows 1399 for that system but the product page says 1599. You might want to go and see if they will honor that price.

I meant to say I just finished the windows update lol. Never went into the bios at all. That's why I was surprised factory setting was already over clocked alittle.

In mine, I could easily install 3 or 4 3.5" or 2.5" HDD drives. There was at least 2 sata cables in the box, 3 or 4 sata power plugs open on PSU, and more than enough bays in either 2.5" or 3.5"...

It should be okay, I think, to open it up. I own a MSI laptop and contacted support about that (in the past) to upgrade to a SSD after owning it for only 1 month, and they said it would be okay...
