https://www.transunion.com/credit-freeze/credit-freeze-information-by-state so this is frickin dumb. If I freeze my credit at experian, they will charge me to unfreeze it. that ain't right....

I did. I already had a freeze put on so I'd have to remove that to use the on/off lock they offer. But I do get to see (and contest) my credit report online.

What you do, or don't pay, varies state to state. I'm in Illinois. I put a freeze on four credit reporting agencies (the forth being Innovis). Only Experian charged a $10 fee.

People are paying to freeze their credit. The bureaus don't do that for free. Equifax might right now...I don't know. But if you're going to freeze credit you need to do it at all three bureaus.
