I don't know about DS3, but typically in the souls games the "tutorial" bosses are some of the hardest and you're not even supposed to beat them, so don't give up based on that :)

I’ve rented games from Redbox and too many times, what the machine spat out was a paper circle in a Redbox case. I’m not about to buy a paper circle.

Managed to snag one. Was an actual disc. Disc was scratch free with a light finger smudge. For $5 can't complain :)

DS3 is directed by the original director of DS1. DS2 is kind of the black sheep of the series, though I haven't played it to tell you whether your experience of it would be the same or similar.
