Wool is generally the better quality. Low end suits are usually polyester/rayeon. Nothing to complain about here.

I also ordered a 44L which normally fits me fine (6'2", 225) but had to return. Pants were 37" waist instead of the normal 38" and jacket was very tight. I've bought CK Slim Fit suits before that fit...

You will probably want to buy separates. As you said, the normal drop is 6 inches and it's not really recommended to alter pants more than 2 inches.
