I had 70+ at one point, but after Costco and Jetblue changed brands, I let those cards die and I'm down to a respectable 52 or so. Getting paid by Amex since the "gift chain" and "wishlist" days..

It depends on how much you spend. If you're a small spender like me but still make purchases fairly often then I suggest the AMEX EveryDay card. You get a 20% points bonus if you make 20+ purchases...
