I think it's just personal preference, these laptops are all pretty similar. The HP does have USB-C which is nice to have.

I opened it up to find out that the RAM I had wasn't the right kind, I removed 8 screws total, I believe... two of which were under the rubber feet on the hinge side. The screws were #5 star drive...
