sometimes damage isn't apparent until you power it up. We had that problem with walmart refurbs, screen was shattered internally.

Bought a 43", took it home and the screen was cracked. Went back and found out that the 55" are indeed HDR, at least the replacement I'm getting is. Hope this helps someone.

Did you calibrate it? Also what were you playing on it? Actual 4k content looks very good after calibration and should easily beat an old dlp.
