my HP spectre with the same processor just scored 9000 at baseline and 9800 with a little undervolting. Its the 15". It is much heavier and the fan is much louder. Can't decide which one to keep....

I see the same issues with the HP spectre. I’m not a computer expert, but it seems like the “light and thin “ laptops are all throttled due to heat issues.

they finally returned my repair back, they replaced the MB, so the thing is now kind of "new". Update: The replacement (manufcatured in Dec. 2017) is equipped with 2400Mhz ram and PM981...

Even after increasing the turbo boost power max to 40w from default 15w, the maximum turbo speed the CPU could achieve is 3.24ghz, far from 4ghz. I can imagine by defaults settings you won't be able...
