I seem to recall this is YMMV. Some people have been denied with the reason being it's Boost and not one of the major carriers. However, I haven't tried it myself so I'm just going by anecdotes.

No it's not. Walk into Verizon corporate store with cash, pay off dpp, then call Verizon to cancel. Someone reported doing same day and was not charged anything, ymmv though.

No need for time machine just head over to Walmart for $300 gc but I've read they increase price by $50 so maybe net $250 off. Or just wait another year or two and it will be under $200.

This is an ok deal. The sams club one from 11/11 with $300 gc was much better, especially for the 256 gb iPhone 7 was only $649 plus $300 gc.
