Try flashing it to "U"nlocked firmware. I feel that my S7 Edge's battery performance is at least 20-30% better with "U" firmware than T-mobile firmware.

My guess is the phone can be used for cdma elsewhere but Republic Wireless's Cdma service is not working with this phone temporarily.
