Very good answers. I have always used crates. I can rest assured that my dogs are safe and where they are suppose to be at all times. They like their "homes". I have big Alaskan Malamutes.

More then one vet has told me that having a dog crate trained is the way to go i doubt your a vet or not a good one My dogs love their crates they rest in them all the the time, it’s their “house”
