I didn't want to send the bill any higher and reflect a gift on the bill if that makes any sense. It wouldn't be considered a gift or appear as one even if I told her I'd pay that portion.

Because you already paid off your phone, then you no longer will receive monthly promo credit. I think the credit of $300 only works if you stay with them for 2 years,

As long as the DPP is still active on the Verizon line and the Verizon line is still active, you will continue to receive the bill credits. You can swap device on the Verizon line anytime.

Easiest way is to use adapter. Else, you have to swap/register micro sim on the new line in order to use the S5 on that line.
