The hero one is nicer in ways like actually making sounds and being bigger. Though, that size comes at a price because the damn head falls off very, very easily.

We have both and the Hero is nice but it is really big and needs a lot of room. The Sphero is a little hard to control, but it has some features that is nice, for example it is waterproof and floats....

I picked up the normal BB-8 last year through a clearing house for ~$60. I liked it enough to buy BB-9E using the 25% Target coupon back in November. I also got the R2-Q5 and R2-D2 with free force...
