Hmm, could be a nice gesture to the wife, just getting it as a fancy serving thing that I know she would like for company. The question is 1200ml or 1800ml.

I agree but I was saying the definition of 'decanter' has a stopper. I thought it was funny they were saying airator as well when basically everything is an airator. Again back to my bowl that...

i'm not an expert but once the wine bottle is open you have a fairly short amount of time to drink it at its best. this varies from wine to wine of course and is also effected by the age of the...

What size is better? Is 1800ml too large for a single bottle of wine? Is 1800ml the capacity filled to the brim?
Post #110688215 added 01-06-2018 6:09 PM by CigarBoy in Deal Talk
Almost pulled the trigger on this but decided 1800ml just wasn’t big enough.

I am not at all speaking to this product, but in reply to your points - Different shape decanters are meant for different styles/ages of wine - wide base such as this meant for the bolder/fuller...

It’s quite annoying - you’ll want a decanter squeegee, cleaning beads, and an inverting drying stand for best results

I went with the larger because I read younger wines benefit most from aeration compared to older wines. I mostly drink younger wines, so hopefully I made the right decision!

This is not meant to store wine. It is designed to aerate and serve wine at a meal. Lead leaching from vessels can cause lead poisoning over YEARS but you would have to let the wine sit in the ...
Post #110698975 added 01-07-2018 6:02 AM by krispykrames in Deal Talk
To the OP, which SigX is replying, a “stopper” on a decanter, if ever present, is meant to retain the aromas within the vessel - keep in mind it doesn’t remove any air present.. so it won’t slow any...

Got the 1800ml. I have a 1200ml but I think a bigger one is more suitable for a family party.

You don't need bells and whistles when it comes to decanter. This type of decanter works and it works the best. It's funnier to buy a complex gadget to do a simple task.
