Yes I would grab these 8tbs to be honest even the 128mbs are great deals at this price point for the simple fact they are very reliable for our NASs. I have 8x8 for my Plex setup

EasyStores do not have encryption. MyBooks do. It will clearly say it on the packaging if it has it as it's a "selling point."

It should work as long as you are running Windows 7 or higher, since it is a GPT disk partition style. As far as "adapter".. This is USB 3.0, but USB is backwards compatible so your USB 2.0 ports...

if the DCM, starts w/L then it's 128MB otherwise a utility like CrystalDiskInfo will tell you without having to do any disassembly.
