no its not. infact it's inferior. this has built in micro sd, and can connect to NVR. and in doing so you cut out the middle man unless you don't have an NVR and you use the cloud base services....

As for app, you can use any of the branded apps for this doorbell, or also Hik-connect. As this is a rebadged hikvision product, every brand's backend use the Hik-connect infrastructure anyway
