Yeah, but you can still get the fabric off the other one. Just not a zipper. For occasional washing, not sure if he convenience of a zipper is worth it

Car seats are more for weight limit than age. This particular car seat can be use up to 22 LBS Rear facing and after that Forward Facing until the child hits 65 LBS.

putting them in/out won't last a long time (depending on when you start using the seat). by the time they're able to walk, they're going to want to climb in themselves.

For a new baby, check out the doona. A bit pricey, but totally worth it. Only sad part is they outgrow it in a year and you have to buy one of these. The doona impresses everyone that sees it.
