Extremely good deal imo, the bookshelf speakers alone are selling for $750-$800 on ebay every week. The towers sell for $1500 alone, some have sold for more.

if you don’t have a sub, there’s no crossover to set. The crossover Setting is where the lower end signal (e.g. anything below 80hz) would be directed to the sub and not the speakers.

The 707s play down to 40 hz reliably. Specs may state they can go lower, but thats where I set the crossover in the 3070. If you don't need to go lower, they do just fine with their 6x9 radiators. ...

I certainly don't recommend that. The time, energy and financial investment don't indicate a good deal. If you need 2 receivers or 2 pair of 707s, then it makes sense.
