Maximus, Do a hard reset by pressing the reset button for 15-20 seconds with power on, then wait for the router to reboot. Log in with admin/password after that.

Mine arrived today. Looks nearmint. zero scratches. Runs way too damn hot, though. At least ~80c. I had to put it near my window to shave off 7c. I wonder if you can put in better paste or thermal...

That is correct the booster helped me go from 0/1 bars to full bars but i always had full WiFi strength. Is this to be used as a main router or as an access point in areas that WiFi is weak?

I'm curious to hear if this actually has better coverage. I've been thinking about the ac66u_b1 which has the same hardware as the ac68u. I'd rather buy new and not have to bother loading the...

False. Only way to revive it was to open it up connect a serial cable and pause the boot in SSH, OC is set before it'll recognise the reset button. Plus the serial had to be soldered. Not worth it...

Yeah, I remember that. Then he wanted to return it - after opening it  Something fishy about that guy. Probably trying to recover after bricking it- attempting to flash new firmware. Then...

I flashed to the latest (3.0.0.4.384_20308-gead790e) and still find it flaky as an AiMesh node (connecting with a "real" RT-AC68U master AiMesh, hardwired together). It'd wedge after a day or two,...

Yes if you have a lot of devices and/or use VPN. The only major difference is the CPU (single core 600MHz vs dual core 800MHz). EDIT: AC68 also has USB 3.0 if that matters to you

Some members flashed it and it still says tm1900. But if you see the aimesh icon at initial quick setup then you are golden.

I'm assuming you meant modem + router. It is not that. You'd need a separate modem as this is only the wired and wireless router.
