from looking at their respective technical data sheets, seems like edge has slightly higher viscosity at 100C. edge would be better if your engine burns or leaks oil or for summer driving.

My 2009 prius (gen 2) takes 5w30 but I use conventional 5w30 oil since mine is over 100k and burns oil. Plus I change the oil every 5k so it’s not worth using synthetic for me.

Edge is Full Synthetic with Extra Additives. Magnatec is either Full Synthetic or Synthetic Blend depending on grade (with less additive than Edge) and so overall Edge is supposedly rated better....

I've got that car, and the owners manual calls for 5w-20 of conventional oil. You can use synthetic oil, but you should match the weight. In other words, don't use 0w-20.
