Thank you very much for posting these suggestions. I saw them, gave FreeTaxUSA a shot and actually found it to be better overall than TaxAct. The cost for submitting a Schedule C + State compared to...

People need to think long term. A one time deal with TaxAct means one year with them I refuse to deal with a company that I was loyal to for a decade and the decided to raise my fees from $30 to...

Thanks! Used TA yesterday to complete Fed + State. I like the integrated help in TA better than Tax Slayer. Didn't have time to look at freetaxusa or freefillableforms but will check it out!

THIS!!! FreeTaxUSA is a far superior product for less than TaxAct. I filled out both, and FreeTaxUSA included so many more deductions - I would have owed $22 with TaxAct, and now I'm getting a nice...

I also switched to FreeTaxUSA this year after many years of using TaxAct. I liked FreeTaxUSA better, so I'll probably stick with it next year.

Yep, I agree. It is amazing how something that was once so good became so bad. I would have easily kept paying Taxact a modest fee but when they started jerking me around a year or so ago with much...

Use CreditKarma or FreeTaxUSA if your taxes more complicated. Both are free. Screw TaxAct, they are greedy now just like TurboTax and the others. I'm done with TaxAct.

I filed last night. They switched me from Basic to Freelancer at the last minute because Basic "didn't support 1099s". They did last year. And today they're 60% off? What. The. Hell.

Go to a tax accountant to amend. Not sure if you can file on one site and amend using other site.
