Thanks for the hint, I called customer care and they reversed the charge of my first billing cycle as I had called them for cancellation (policy-within 3 days) on the same day as it was activated.

Not 100% sure, but you just need the Verizon sim card for the activation. You're not messing with that number.

I assume the BB rep opened a new Sprint account for OP when he bought the phone. OP paid some % on the phone at Best Buy, then paid off the phone completely at the Sprint Store.
