You activate from the app first. The app will give you a code - and the pump at the same time will ask for the code. But do not start on the pump first.

No, because I think the pump machine needs to be upgraded enough to have the technology to register that you paid directly through the Chase Pay App.

Way too much work! The Shells nearest to me don't even show up as eligible. For Chase pay in general you can only use at Starbucks and not earn rewards? Chase pay should use NFC not bar codes...

It will work once you are at the station. When I looked at it at home there were no participating stores, but once you drive to the station, it will show up.
