The sharkbite 3/4 male pipe adapter doesn't screw all the way into the valve, only half way in and it gets too tight. Won't it leak if it can only go in half way?

Most homes are 3/4" pipe. Unless you have like 3-4 floors then they upsize for flow. Most domestic point of service faucets use 1/2.

As long as the water main is 3/4", you'll only need one. I think everyone is buying two because $10 shipping means the second one is only $30, and that's really cheap for a spare.
