this post was hidden for me, but I decided to click "show post" just so I can down vote it....good budget gaming comp here guys
Is this a good budget computer for a gamer? How does it compare to a GTX 1060 3GB/6GB? I think you can crack into VR with a 1060 not sure what the AMD min spec is. Obviously 4K isn’t gonna happen...

How well would this run something like Overwatch with lowish settings? I'm looking for something to get high frame rates and steady performance not ultra graphics.

You really should edit your previous posts...don't want to misinform people

Big thanks to you and the others who have shared helpful knowledge. I'll keep looking for deals on more appropriate momputers. The consensus is this is overkill for word processing and AOL mail....

Actually it can run most high end games at 1080p at high settings for around 60fps
Post #114622847 added 04-21-2018 1:48 PM by person749 in Deal Talk
It's exactly the same as a GTX 1060 6GB. I'd see if you could upgrade to a higher end Ryzen like the 1600 and throw in an SSD but this is definitely a good start. Not a bad price.
Post #114622903 added 04-21-2018 1:51 PM by mitun733 in Deal Talk
You have no idea what you're talking about. At 1080P this is practically equivalent to the GTX 1060 3GB/6GB. Perfect for 1080p gaming at 60 fps on high/ultra.

Yeah a rx 560 would have been a no go :P
Post #114623815 added 04-21-2018 2:32 PM by Cats869 in Deal Talk
That's probably referring to the USB port it has (in addition to the regular USB ports we normally see)
What about for VR? RX580 anyone test this out? Sometime it’s more about getting the system to output at 90hz or higher.

It'll be a code, but you can still sell it.

Mom needs a new computer for mother's day and I could use farcry... is this any kind of slick or not really?
Post #114623791 added 04-21-2018 2:31 PM by Cats869 in Deal Talk
To answer your question properly, it depends on what your mom is planning to use the computer for. This computer will be overkill just for basic web browsing and office work. Even light gaming is...

Your comment is non-"subjective". It's just all kinds of wrong.

It's not bad for basic stuff like casual browsing and streaming. I would say minimal gaming would be okay too.. Like lower end games and whatnot.

What are you talking about? 1060 6gb is the same performance as this. It's at most a 3% difference. http://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-GTX-1060-6GB-vs-AMD-RX-580/3639vs3923
Post #114622895 added 04-21-2018 1:50 PM by kit10dog in Deal Talk
True, with some settings tweaked pretty much any game in 1080p will run perfectly fine in 30-60FPS range or well above on this PC, depending on game and settings used. As for the value - it's...

I have a Ryzen processor and a 1060 3GB which is a step or two below a 580, and I get 120 fps in Fortnite. This HP desktop is a very solid choice for gaming, capable of 1080p 60fps at max settings...

Ouch, 300W PSU, a recipe for a disaster. I wonder how they pull off that crap when AMD recommends 500W for RX 580. I know for sure I can run RX 580 with a good quality 400W PSU, but whatever HP uses...

You’ll get 60+ fps high settings on far cry 5. Actually RX580 is faster than GTX1060. You don’t know what you are talking about!
Post #114623711 added 04-21-2018 2:28 PM by Toller in Deal Talk
What does "type C" mean? Is the 300w PSU an issue?
Post #114625211 added 04-21-2018 3:42 PM by starfoxinstinct in Deal Talk
Unless your mother is a hardcore gamer... this is way too much power for her. You could buy it, but it would be a total waste. If you get it, pull out the RX 580 and use it for yourself, and toss...

Wtf is minimal gaming ? The amount of misinformation is too high. This card is totally better than 1060 because of same performance with the addition of Free Sync and that improves ur game alot...

It's not the worst, but it's not anywhere close to the best either.. Not even middle of the pack, to be honest. That being said, it will play some games... Mostly on lower settings. If you can get a...

I can only speak to fortnite, but I have a ryzen 5, 16gb of memory, SSD, and a RX 580 4gb. I run fortnite on the highest settings and fps is capped at 75 (to match my monitor). The GPU does get alot...
Yeah I was thinking of going with a GTX 1060 6GB or even a 1070 8GB but prices seem to jump to $800 & $1000+ fairly quickly. It bugs me that these are old cards.
Post #114622991 added 04-21-2018 1:55 PM by Shooter2Cold in Deal Talk
Wow, I thought you guys were crazy for a second and then realized I misread what card was in it. My mistake, y'all. This actually isn't bad. Personally I would prefer something that can pump out 144...
