If you look at tomshardware review of the 2700x it tells a different story than what you are stating. But still the 2700x is a great step in the right direction for AMD

The 2700X is now the best processor. The 1800X is extremely good, if it's significantly cheaper you should get that. :) Just and FYI. The 2700x crushes anything intel has to offer at multi-thread...
