You can find 1050, 1050ti, 1060s under 1k. All of which will do well if not max out at 1080. Depending on the game. My friend has a i5 7300 + 1050 4gb and he plays quite a few games maxed out....

AMD or Intel? AMD. Superior iGPU and competitive CPU at lower cost. However, there are a ton more Intel choices to pick from so prices usually are lower.

8550U + MX150 is slightly better. You really can't tell in real world applications. Even then, that's not quite an apples to apples comparison. You should be comparing Intel + Integrated HD Graphics...
