For tires stored indoors, the an older manufactured date is less important. Sunlight is the biggest killer of tire shelf life.

I have had Dextero tires from WalMart on my suv for around 3 years. They have performed and are wearing like any other tire would with no problems so far.

From my experience working at Walmart when these first were sold there, they are junk. But for half off and something that needs tires they'll work.
