sounds like you're testing via a USB enclosure in which case it's user error and not a revelation. need a real SATA connection and then the results will be as expected.

Buyer beware: the 240GB drive I just received & tested in CrystalDisk had decent read speeds but terrible write speeds, worse than a spinning hard disk. EDIT: This was a problem with Diskmark....
