Yep, they negotiated a bad deal and want to pass it on to the customer.
If you ask what I would want them to do, put the total price in their offer.
If it is actually 1 year for $90, don't say it...

Maybe their suppliers didn't charge them back then.
Or, maybe it was small enough that it was buried (bundled) in the base.
But you can be sure, if it was a cost to SXM, the customer ultimately...

You don’t have to give them a credit card. They bill me and I send a check that way I never get an autobill on my credit card

same here I got 6 months for $30 plus taxes for my car and internet. In December they will have a new deal. you can cancel at any time and get the remaining money or put it on a different deal.

What's the difference if they line item the fee so you see it, or hide it buy raising the price? There's no free lunch, in the end the customer pays it one way or another... it's not like SXM keeps...

They didn’t use to charge they royalty fee. I subscribed to the service for many years previously and cancelled in 2016. I never saw the fee until I went to deactivate with this offer.

I usually get the 5 for $25 or 6 for $30 deal. Don’t waste my time with a burner card especially if I’m putting it in my calendar. Also I always get another deal so want to use that card again.
