Best to let an electrician handle that. To do it legally you need a transfer switch. That being said, 2000 watts isn't that much power. You can run a few things at a time depending on the device....

That's actually swapped. The voltage stays the same in parallel but the amperage doubles. I run my 30 amp RV with two of these plus the parallel kit.

It is possible that it has fixed timing advance, which might make it start easier on 89 if that is what they tuned the timing too. But I doubt you'd notice. That being said mine usually takes 5-8...
