I've only activated Boost G6 plays. All of mine were scanned activations when I purchased. I just commented since the Boost 5 seems to work the same way.

You have to set up account and activate phone/SIM all at the same time by calling in on the promotional 800 phone number. It won't work this SIM by doing it online.
