I use one for my fish tank lights. It's set up on a schedule, but if I want the lights on/off outside of the normal schedule, it's much easier to ask Google home to do it rather than reaching down...

No. I mean that you can use the physical light switch (as in the one on the wall that controls an outlet intended for a lamp) normally since restoring power by flipping the switch defaults it to on....
