Well hell, tried the app hoping for some luck, and nope. Even asked Amex customer service and they told me it's all algorithm driven, so they can't manually add anything.

Strange, every BBY I've been to allows CC to pay for GC. Try another location or cashier...? If you're looking for 3rd party GCs you can buy a few of them online and use your CC.

That's incorrect. There is a fee when buying the card, for a $200 card, it's $6.95. There is no fee spending the card. At staples this week, the $6,95 is waived.
