These are great. I have 15 or so. Flash them to tasmota and they work great with home assistant and Alexa via emulated_hue or ha-bridge.

I reprogrammed them to ESPEasy firmware, been in use for over a year without issue. They are somewhat a hassle to reprogram, but very doable.

If anyone here is decently technical you can hack these things to work with Tasmosa. Need some tools to flash the firmware. Was worth it for me though, can use MQTT to interact with home assistant.

this should already be understood. the alexa app on your mobile phone will control the devices in your home while you are driving down the freeway. same network not required.
