ukulele is alot easier and kids give up less on it because it doesnt hurt their hands strings are softer and easier to learn since cords are easier for the most part

All New Uke gets out of tune very quick, it would need 2 weeks to 1 month for it to stay tune most of the time. I would not bother with those 20 dollar ukulele unless there was a big price mistake...

Another advantage for uke is the portability. Easy to tote it around wherever you go and quiet enough to play without bugging people. But...it's definitely not a guitar.

Tenor is usually more expensive, they rarely go on sale. I would say anything below 200 dollars is good price, pretty good quality and sounds well. You may try Luna TT and Kala KA-T series

Amazon has the Fender Zuma for 86 and the Seaside Soprano for 44... Both are newer models with the easy string changing bridge and better deals.
